Sitting directly opposite St Giles' Cathedral on Edinburgh's Royal Mile, Angels with Bagpipes has been one of the city's most quietly assured restaurants since opening in 2010. Its name comes from a wooden carving in the nearby Thistle Chapel — and that same sense of Old Town character runs through everything. Inside a beautifully preserved 17th-century building, stone walls and soft contemporary lighting frame a menu built entirely around Scotland's natural larder: hand-dived scallops, venison loin, North Sea halibut, and the much-loved haggis bon bons with whisky sauce. Head Chef Fraser, who appeared on Great British Menu, brings a modern precision to ingredients that speak for themselves. Intimate, independent, and thoroughly Edinburgh.

Bristol
I didn't really know what to expect as there were not many reviews out there when I booked but it was great fun. I visited parts of Bristol and restaurants that were previously unknown to me. The venues were great, as was the food. We felt very welcome and great effort had been made to provide us with interesting and tasty food and drink. Food was so plentiful that we took the last meal home in a doggie bag because we were stuffed and didn't want to waste it
Liverpool
Great food, wine and service at all restaurants, not rushed. One of the greatest pleasures to eat, drink and converse with a good friend .
Customer
Really nice to visit the restaurants under our own steam and not be bearded around in groups. Variety of restaurants excellent and felt welcome at everyone we visited. Would definitely recommend The Restaurant Tour.
Liverpool
Experiencing the light bites and accompanying drinks at each restaurant was enjoyable, we visited places we didn’t know of until that day. The route was well planned and although we knew a lot of people were taking part that day, it did not feel busy or at all rushed as the starting routes varied. We went with friends and had a great day. Would recommend.
Manchester
We had a great day. Every restaurant was very friendly and very well organised. Just trying a sample of their delicious meals is enough to make us want to visit them again. The variety in the dishes was brilliant, from Indian tapas, sliders, Spanish, Vietnamese, pizza and cheese & crackers, we had it all, together with the lovely drink accompaniments. Would highly recommend to anyone, great value for money.

Bristol
Very nice to do on a Sunday afternoon. Nice to get to know new restaurants. All participants did their very best to serve us delicious dishes. All dishes were tasty and particularly innovative.
Glasgow
Fantastic day out in Glasgow on the Restaurant Tour. We had not expected the portions to be so generous, full size mains, and what a nice surprise for the matched wines to be equally generous, and in most cases of a very high quality! It was good to have the restaurants spaced out enough to walk off the meal before digging into the next one! And all the venues were beautifully appointed, the ambiance just perfect for not one but six meals fit for a couple of princesses!!
Customer
Such an incredible concept. The best possible way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

We had a fantastic day today. It was so nice visiting some new places and having the opportunity to sample some of their offerings. Definitely recommend 👌
Bristol
It was a lovely day and whilst we were a little apprehensive of 6 restaurants in 6 hours we managed it very comfortably. The establishments were all in close proximity for walking - the longest being 5/6 minute walk. All the food was well presented and very tasty and the wine/drinks pairing worked well. Every establishment had lovely welcoming staff. We have visited more than 3 of the extablishments since then.
