On Poland Street in the heart of Soho, Bubala is the all-vegetarian Middle Eastern restaurant that carnivores keep coming back to. Born as a pop-up and now across three London sites, its name is Yiddish for 'darling' — and the food lives up to it. Founder Marc Summers, who moved from finance to kitchens driven by a lifelong love of Middle Eastern food, built a menu around bold, unexpected flavours: burnt butter hummus, sweetcorn ribs drenched in chilli and garlic, leek kebabs with mango amba, and potato latkes so precisely layered they'd horrify a traditionalist. A yakitori grill scorches the vegetables to order, and a short list of natural wines does the rest. Buzzy, generous and endlessly creative, Bubala doesn't ask you to notice that there's no meat. You simply won't miss it.

It was a great way to try out 6 different restaurants. Fantastic way to catch up with friends as no poring over menus and waiting for orders or the bill. The short walks in between each venue were welcome. I'd say we spent roughly an hour in each venue.

I’d never done the tour before and I’m so glad I finally did! It was such a fun and delicious way to spend the day. I loved trying new dishes and exploring different types of cuisine — each of the six venues offered something unique, and every stop came with a perfectly paired drink, which added to the experience. Being in Shrewsbury made it even better. The time to walk between venues gave us a chance to chat, enjoy the surroundings, and really savour the day. It felt relaxed, friendly, and full of flavour. Overall, it was a lovely day — fun, tasty, and a great way to discover new spots. Highly recommended for any foodie looking for a good time!

My partner and I booked on to the Castle street restaurant tour in Liverpool and it was possibly our favourite date we have ever been on! It was well organised, good value for money and a great opportunity to try new restaurants around our city which we have since visited regularly. Really really well organized and some fantastic places to visit. The difference between the best and worst place on the tour was quite vast, but 5 of our 6 stops were incredible and the variety actually made it more interesting and enjoyable. Would definitely recommend!
