Lahpet introduced London to the largely undiscovered flavours of Myanmar — and hasn't looked back since. Founders Dan Anton and head chef Zaw Mahesh started with a market stall residency before opening this Shoreditch permanent home in 2018, now one of the only Burmese restaurants in the capital. The name itself means 'tea', a nod to the restaurant's most iconic dish: lahpet thohk, a punchy, crunchy salad of pickled tea leaves, double-fried beans, dried shrimp and chilli that stops you in your tracks. Beyond it, the menu weaves together Indian, Chinese and Thai influences into something wholly its own — buttery yellow-pea parathas, slow-cooked pork with pickled mustard greens, catfish and lemongrass chowder. Bold, distinctive, and unlike anything else.

On Old Street in Shoreditch, Tavern is the most exciting new British bistro to arrive in East London in years. Born from the same team behind Michelin-starred Restaurant St Barts, Executive Chef Brendan Appleby — whose CV spans Silo, Lyle's and Inver — has ditched the tasting menu format for something altogether more generous: open-fire, nose-to-tail bistro cooking with a St John-esque commitment to minimising waste and maximising flavour. The room leans into a dark, medieval aesthetic — gothic lettering, pewter tankards, sheepskins — but the food is anything but ancient: sustainably-sourced British produce cooked with real precision, from deeply savoury snacks and exceptional seafood to rich, slow-cooked mains that linger in the memory long after you've left. Warm, characterful, and completely singular.

Birmingham
Can't wait to do this again! And will look out for ones in other cities. Such a great way to try new restaurants and explore the city.
Birmingham
It was a great experience and took us to us places we would never normally have visited. We are new in the city and it is a great way to discover Milton Keynes
Bristol
It was a lovely day and whilst we were a little apprehensive of 6 restaurants in 6 hours we managed it very comfortably. The establishments were all in close proximity for walking - the longest being 5/6 minute walk. All the food was well presented and very tasty and the wine/drinks pairing worked well. Every establishment had lovely welcoming staff. We have visited more than 3 of the extablishments since then.
Birmingham
The wide range of flavors was perfect. Each restaurant we visited had its unique charm, and the warm welcome from the staff made the day even more enjoyable. I discovered so many new restaurants! I can't wait to return.
Glasgow
Fantastic day out in Glasgow on the Restaurant Tour. We had not expected the portions to be so generous, full size mains, and what a nice surprise for the matched wines to be equally generous, and in most cases of a very high quality! It was good to have the restaurants spaced out enough to walk off the meal before digging into the next one! And all the venues were beautifully appointed, the ambiance just perfect for not one but six meals fit for a couple of princesses!!

We've done 2 of the tours and both times had the best time. Enjoyed restaurants that we never even knew were there and tries some delicious food. The staff everywhere have been fun, friendly and welcoming. I've recommended the restaurants tours to many of my friends. Can't wait to book to do another one
Manchester
We had a great day. Every restaurant was very friendly and very well organised. Just trying a sample of their delicious meals is enough to make us want to visit them again. The variety in the dishes was brilliant, from Indian tapas, sliders, Spanish, Vietnamese, pizza and cheese & crackers, we had it all, together with the lovely drink accompaniments. Would highly recommend to anyone, great value for money.
Liverpool
My partner and I booked on to the Castle street restaurant tour in Liverpool and it was possibly our favourite date we have ever been on! It was well organised, good value for money and a great opportunity to try new restaurants around our city which we have since visited regularly. I would definitely like to try one of the other tours.
