Santo Remedio is a vibrant Mexican restaurant in Shoreditch that offers a menu inspired by the diverse regions of Mexico. Lahpet introduced London to the largely undiscovered flavours of Myanmar — and hasn't looked back since. Founders Dan Anton and head chef Zaw Mahesh started with a market stall residency before opening this Shoreditch permanent home in 2018, now one of the only Burmese restaurants in the capital. The name itself means 'tea', a nod to the restaurant's most iconic dish: lahpet thohk, a punchy, crunchy salad of pickled tea leaves, double-fried beans, dried shrimp and chilli that stops you in your tracks. Beyond it, the menu weaves together Indian, Chinese and Thai influences into something wholly its own — buttery yellow-pea parathas, slow-cooked pork with pickled mustard greens, catfish and lemongrass chowder. Bold, distinctive, and unlike anything else.

Find the yellow door on Willow Street, take the lift to the seventh floor, and you'll arrive at one of East London's most memorable rooftops. Llama Inn crossed the Atlantic from Brooklyn — where Chef Erik Ramirez earned a James Beard Award finalist nomination and a place in the New York Times Top 100 Restaurants — and landed on top of The Hoxton Shoreditch with every bit of that energy intact. The menu blends Peru's diverse culinary heritage with a New York perspective: scallop ceviche, chicken anticuchos off the grill, whole fish patarashca wrapped in banana leaves, and a bar built around pisco and Latin American spirits. The wine list leans low-intervention and biodynamic, the terrace looks out over half of East London, and the whole place hums with a warmth that's genuinely hard to leave. Michelin listed, and very easy to see why.
