Tucked inside Minshull House in Manchester's Kampus neighbourhood, Madre arrived in 2023 after years of success in Liverpool — and quickly became one of the city's most talked-about restaurants. The team behind London's Breddos Tacos and Liverpool's Belzan built the concept on two decades of trips to Mexico City, Guadalajara and Oaxaca, and the menu shows it: authentic tacos, wood-grilled seafood, freshly shucked oysters, seasonal ceviches and a mezcaleria stocked with over 100 tequilas and mezcals. The long, light-filled room is built for groups and lingering — energetic without being overwhelming, and staffed by some of the most knowledgeable and genuinely warm front-of-house in the city. Bold, generous and deeply rooted in Mexican culinary tradition. Madre doesn't do things by halves.

On Bridge Street, Portfolio is the UK's first dedicated champagne boutique — and since launching its restaurant in early 2026, it's become one of Manchester's most talked-about dining experiences. The concept is the brainchild of chef Julian Pizer, formerly of Another Hand, and Cameron Foster, founder of Deux Six, a specialist importer of exclusive grower champagnes — two people who between them know exactly what food and fizz should taste like together. Pizer's kitchen is built around a single obsession: the perfect bite. Every dish arrives in a single mouthful — up to 18 of them — precisely calibrated to complement over 250 champagnes from 70-plus producers. With just 24 covers and a single sitting per service, there's no sense of rush. Intimate, inventive, and utterly singular.

Liverpool
All enthusiastic entrepreneurs with a passion for wine and food! It's nice to give as a gift and it's really fun. The service at 1 restaurant was not quite great, so that was a bit of a shame, but the other 5 were perfect.
Customer
Such an incredible concept. The best possible way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
Glasgow
The food and wine selections were top-notch. I loved discovering the city's culinary scene one bite at a time. Can't wait to return
Customer
Such an amazing way to spend your Sunday. Exploring new restaurants and eating some fabulous food. The restaurants included were so attentive and some even gave us a little gift. Would definately recommend and I will be booking again and bringing more friends.
Glasgow
Fantastic day out in Glasgow on the Restaurant Tour. We had not expected the portions to be so generous, full size mains, and what a nice surprise for the matched wines to be equally generous, and in most cases of a very high quality! It was good to have the restaurants spaced out enough to walk off the meal before digging into the next one! And all the venues were beautifully appointed, the ambiance just perfect for not one but six meals fit for a couple of princesses!!

It was very well organized, great way to sample different foods and restaurants that we would not normally have tried. Fantastic way to meet and chat to loads of new people cannot recommend the experience highly enough. Great value for money

My husband and I went in the Glasgow Merchant City Restaurant Tour. At each restaurant the food was wonderful and we got drink for each course too. We could tour as quickly or as slowly as we wanted and we had plenty of time to visit all restaurants. We definitely plan to go on another tour and will know it is so good to buy as a gift! I have recommended this tour to friends and colleagues who have also taken the opportunity to go on a food tour!
Birmingham
Really really well organized and some fantastic places to visit. The difference between the best and worst place on the tour was quite vast, but 5 of our 6 stops were incredible and the variety actually made it more interesting and enjoyable. Would definitely recommend!
Customer
Fantastic experience. Visited great restaurants I wouldn't have gone to otherwise.
Customer
It was a great way to try out 6 different restaurants. Fantastic way to catch up with friends as no poring over menus and waiting for orders or the bill. The short walks in between each venue were welcome. I'd say we spent roughly an hour in each venue.
